Discovering Indian Food in Japan: Trying Masala Cup Noodles

Indian instant noodles and spices available in a shop in JapanDiscovering Indian Food in Japan

A Small Food Adventure by the KNI Japan Operations Team

Hello! ☀️
This is Miyu from the KNI Operations Team.

Recently, I visited a shop in Japan that sells some interesting and slightly “deep” Indian food ingredients from a Japanese perspective. I bought a few items that caught my attention. ✨

Trying foods from other cultures is always exciting. It helps us learn more about different traditions and flavors. Experiences like this remind me how wonderful it would be if more people around the world could easily discover and enjoy foods from other countries.

At KNI Japan, we hope to continue connecting Japan with the rest of the world, not only through travel but also through culture, food, and shared experiences. ✨

Indian Instant Noodles Found in Japan

One thing I noticed in the shop was a familiar brand that many people know: Nissin.

Interestingly, Nissin products are very popular in India as well. When browsing the shelves, I saw several Indian-style instant noodles and dried noodles that looked very different from typical Japanese flavors.

One product that really caught my attention was Masala Cup Noodles.

Masala is a spice blend commonly used in Indian cooking, and it gives food a rich and aromatic flavor. Seeing this flavor in instant noodles made me very curious.

I am really excited to try the Masala Cup Noodles soon and discover how the taste compares to Japanese cup noodles.

Food as a Bridge Between Cultures

Food is one of the best ways to connect cultures. When people can enjoy products from other countries, it brings the world closer together.

In Japan, international ingredients are becoming easier to find. At the same time, Japanese foods are spreading around the world.

Moments like these remind us why building connections between Japan and other countries is so meaningful.

At KNI Japan, our goal is to continue strengthening these connections and creating opportunities for people to discover new cultures.

Final Thoughts

From Indian spices to Japanese noodles, global food culture is becoming more exciting every day.

Next time you visit Japan, you might even discover unexpected international flavors in local stores!

And if you are curious about Japan, its culture, or its food scene, KNI Japan will always be happy to help you explore. ✨

A Cozy Japanese Winter Treat: Takikomi Gohan & Heartwarming New Year Moments

Japanese takikomi gohan rice and onigiri served at a cozy New Year gathering
Hello everyone! Miyu here from the KNI Operations Team.

Winter is one of my favorite seasons in Japan. It’s the time of year when we have many gatherings like year-end parties and New Year celebrations, and we get to reconnect with people we haven’t seen in a while ☺️✨

A Special New Year Gathering

At the beginning of January, I attended a New Year party.
It was a warm and joyful gathering filled with laughter, conversations, and delicious food.

One dish that truly stood out was Takikomi Gohan (Japanese seasoned rice)

The Comfort of Takikomi Gohan

Takikomi Gohan is a traditional Japanese rice dish cooked with flavorful broth, vegetables, and sometimes meat or seafood.

The one I had was:

  • Rich in dashi (Japanese soup stock)
  • Light, yet deeply flavorful
  • Comforting and perfect for winter

Every bite felt warm and soothing—like a hug in food form ✨

A Sweet Takeaway Moment

What made the experience even more special was this…

They kindly packed the leftover rice into onigiri (rice balls) for me to take home

The next morning, I enjoyed them again for breakfast—and honestly, it made my day start on a very happy note ✨

❄️ Why Winter Food Moments Feel So Special

Winter gatherings and traditional food bring:

  • Warmth and comfort
  • A sense of connection
  • Beautiful memories with loved ones

Simple moments like these remind us how food can create happiness beyond just taste.

Final Thoughts

If you ever visit Japan in winter, don’t miss out on:
✔ Local gatherings
✔ Traditional dishes like Takikomi Gohan
✔ Small, heartwarming experiences

Sometimes, the simplest meals create the most unforgettable memories ✨
